HISTORY:

Kappa Alpha
Order - Oklahoma State University
On March 16,
1920, Beta Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order was installed at Oklahoma
A&M College (Now OSU). KA was the second fraternity to come to the
campus of Oklahoma State University and remains one of the oldest and
best fraternities on campus.
Kappa Alpha Order has called many locations home at Oklahoma State
University. The KA chapter now thrives in the stately columned house
located at 224 South Jefferson Street, just one half block from Theta
Pond and the OSU Campus. Normally, there are around 32 men who live in
the house. Out of house KA's live in additional housing around the
campus.
In April 2005,
Beta Xi received a Civil War replica Cannon from KA Rose Amanda Lee
Poole. The cannon was found in her backyard and purchased from
her landlord. The cannon was in bad shape when the chapter came
into possession. Robert Steinkirchner and Austin Kubat worked
diligently to restore the cannon to its former glory and eliminate the
cannon's red, white and blue paint scheme. The cannon guards the
chapter house from a concrete and brick pedestal.
Kappa Alpha Order
is one of the "Old Line" fraternities within the United States. KA's
long and rich heritage goes back to 1865 with beginnings at Washington
College in Lexington, Virginia. Kappa Alpha Order is based on values of
preparing young men to become respected and honorable gentleman who
bring pride to themselves and those around them.
Beta Xi
Chapter has influenced hundreds of young men whose paths went through
Stillwater, Oklahoma on their way to successful lives and careers. The
pride continues today with an active and involved undergraduate chapter
on the campus of Oklahoma State University. In addition those who leave
OSU continue to be involved through the Stillwater Area Alumni Chapter
of Kappa Alpha Order.
